FALL RIVER Fall River police are investigating after an 18-year-old man was treated for several stab wounds early Thursday, Oct. 29, Deputy Chief Barden Castro said, according to the Fall River Reporter.

Officers went to Charlton Memorial Hospital just after 3:15 a.m. Thursday on a report of an 18-year-old man in the emergency department with several stab wounds, Castro said.

The man had injuries to his legs and an arm, Acting Chief J.T. Hoar said in the report. The injuries are not considered life-threatening, and the man was later moved to St. Luke's Hospital, Hoar said.

What the man told officers

The man first told officers he was stabbed by two men he did not know in the area of Pearce Street, police said.

Officers tried to interview him, but he was uncooperative and gave limited information, the Fall River Reporter reported. At one point he said two men attacked him, and he recalled a railway overpass. That information went to detectives for further investigation.

The Fall River Police Major Crimes Division is investigating, the report said.
