Fall River school facilities subcommittee takes up master plan, windows project tonight

The 5 p.m. session at the Administration Building also covers a software update and an access study, with a citizens input period near the top.

FALL RIVER Fall River's school facilities master plan, the Central Office windows project, a Brightly Software update and a Tighe/Bond access study are up for discussion at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. The Facilities and Operations Subcommittee of the Fall River School Committee will take up all four items in School Committee Room 417 at the Administration Building, 417 Rock St.

The four discussion items are the Central Office Windows Project-CPA, the Facilities Master Short/Long Term Plan, the Brightly Software Update and the Tighe/Bond Access Study Update. No votes are scheduled. Citizens' input comes before the four items, and a new business slot and adjournment follow.

The subcommittee's Sept. 10 discussion agenda covered Administration Building updates, district projects, long-term planning and overtime use. The Oct. 22 agenda returns to building planning with the master plan and Central Office windows items.

Kevin Aguiar, Collin Dias and Emanuel Moniz are the three members of the subcommittee. Residents with questions for the district can call Fall River Public Schools at 508-675-8420. The district office is at the same 417 Rock St. address as the meeting.

Residents can speak during the citizens' input period near the start of the meeting. The item "allows time for public comment that is not limited to items on the Agenda." The committee also says it "would like the opportunity to hear the wishes and ideas of the public." It adds: "Although this is not a time for discussion, the School Committee appreciates public input and may refer such comments to administration for appropriate follow-up."

The meeting will be televised on Comcast Cable Channel 9 in Fall River. It will also stream live on Fall River Government Television's website at frgtv.fredtv.us/live and on the station's Facebook page at facebook.com/frgtv/live. Thursday's session is the subcommittee's seventh of 2026. The six earlier meetings were Jan. 28, March 9, April 6, May 11, Aug. 10 and Sept. 10. The Evaluation Subcommittee last met Oct. 6. The full School Committee's last regular meeting was Oct. 7, and its next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 18.
