About South Coast 360
A local newsroom for the South Coast of Massachusetts. Who runs it, who pays for it, and how to reach the editor.
What we do
South Coast 360 covers fifteen towns around Buzzards Bay and the lower Taunton River. We read what town boards, state agencies and courts post, and we turn it into short, sourced stories, news text reels and a 6 a.m. email. We start with the towns that rarely make the region's news.
We do not run crime blotters or press releases as news. When we use an organization's own words, the story is labeled "Statement."
Our editor
Chuck Vieira
Editor and publisher. Approves every story, reel and post before it is published, and owns every correction.

Who owns South Coast 360, and who pays for it
South Coast 360 is owned by Chuck Vieira. It takes no money from political campaigns. It plans to carry clearly labeled local sponsors; a sponsor never sees a story before it is published and never decides what we cover.
Our owner also runs other South Coast businesses and holds other roles. When a story touches one of them, the story says so in plain words, or we do not run it. Those disclosures are part of our sourcing standards.
Our pictures
Most photographs and drone footage on this site are by John Souza, credited on every image as John Souza (J.A.S. III). Library pictures are labeled "File photo" with the year they were taken, and are never shown as pictures of a news event. We do not use AI-generated images as news pictures.
Send a tip, a document or a correction
Tips go to the editor only. We never publish a tip as fact; we look for the document. Use the tip form, or report an error in a story.
