Story types
Every story carries a label so you know what you are reading before you read it.
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Reported by us | Our own story, built from documents and on-the-record sources, with a Sources box. |
| Meeting recap | What a public body discussed and decided, drawn from its posted minutes and agenda. |
| Explainer | How something works, such as a town meeting warrant or a conservation commission, with the date it was last reviewed. |
| Statement | An organization's own words, published as theirs and labeled so, with any context we add marked as ours. |
| From Above | A short drone flight over a South Coast place, filmed by a credited pilot, with captions naming what you see. |
| Around the South Coast | Another newsroom's story: one sentence in our words and a link to read it where it was published. |
| From the police department | A department's own release. Not published at launch. |
| Opinion | Signed and written by a person. Never written by AI. Not published at launch. |
