SOUTH COAST A flu shot clinic is set for Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Acushnet Board of Health office, and Southcoast Health is booking flu and 2026-27 COVID-19 shots every week at its vaccination clinics in Fall River, Dartmouth and Wareham. Residents of Acushnet, Fairhaven and New Bedford can also book a shot with a public health nurse, and the nurse who serves Swansea and Somerset gives flu shots to people 6 and older who have had one before, the town of Swansea says.
Acushnet: Thursday, Nov. 5
The flu vaccine clinic runs from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Nov. 5 at the Acushnet Board of Health office in the Parting Ways Building, 130 Main St. The clinic is listed on the events calendar of SEMA Public Health, the public health partnership of the Acushnet, Fairhaven and New Bedford health departments, which runs on a state Public Health Excellence grant. SEMA says its events are open to all residents of Acushnet, Fairhaven and New Bedford. Questions about the clinic go to the Acushnet Board of Health at 508-998-0200, ext. 6.
SEMA's nursing team, which serves Acushnet, Fairhaven and New Bedford, also gives flu shots by appointment, in its office or at home. Appointments are made at 508-991-6199.
Southcoast Health: three clinics, every week
Southcoast Health's vaccination clinics give shots to people 5 and older, by appointment only at every location. Each clinic is open on set days:
- Fall River: Tuesdays, in Truesdale Health Internal Medicine, 1030 President Ave., Suite 1001.
- Dartmouth: Mondays, Thursdays and some Saturdays, across from Southcoast Health Pediatrics at 49 State Road, Nauset Building, second floor, Suite 201. Southcoast asks people to call to confirm a Saturday.
- Wareham: Wednesdays, in Lab Services at 100 Rosebrook Way.
- Children 5 to 11 only: the last Thursday of every month at the Dartmouth address. The last Thursday in November is Nov. 26, Thanksgiving Day, and parents can confirm the November session at 508-973-9297.
Flu and COVID-19 shots can be booked with the health system's online scheduler or in MyChart, or by calling 508-973-9297. Pharmacists at the clinics can help people work out which vaccines they are eligible for, at that number or by email at PharmacyVaccines@southcoast.org.
On cost, Southcoast says its clinics take most major prescription insurance plans and that many preventive shots are covered, though a patient still owes any copay or deductible on the plan. The clinics bill a patient's prescription coverage, including Medicare Part D, and Medicare Part B for some vaccines.
For anyone under 18, Southcoast requires consent from a parent or guardian, such as a signed consent form the teen or child brings to the appointment. The parent does not have to come along.
Swansea and Somerset: the town nurse
The public health nurse who works under the Swansea Board of Health serves residents of both Swansea and Somerset, and flu shots are among the nurse's services, according to the Southcoast Public Health Coalition, the regional health partnership of Fall River, Seekonk, Somerset and Swansea.
Swansea's flu clinic page says the shots are for ages 6 and up, for people who have had a flu vaccine before, and that there is no residency rule. It asks people to bring a photo ID and an insurance card and says people with no insurance are welcome too. Registration for each clinic opens through a link the town posts on that page once the clinic is scheduled.
The nurse keeps office hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays at 115 Wood St. in Somerset, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Swansea Council on Aging, 260 Ocean Grove Ave. Appointments are made at 508-415-7129, the town's nurse page says.

Notes
Every fact comes from SEMA Public Health's events, services and home pages, the Acushnet Board of Health page, Southcoast Health's Vaccination Clinics page, the Town of Swansea's town nurse and flu clinic pages and the Southcoast Public Health Coalition's home, Swansea and Somerset pages. We read them on Oct. 31, 2026. We checked each date and weekday against a calendar. Clinic hours are printed only where the office posts them. Not heard: no office was interviewed for this story; each one's own posted page is the record.
