FAIRHAVEN Fairhaven and Apponequet, the South Coast's two unbeaten football teams, both take 7-0 records on the road Friday night, Oct. 30, in the last week of games before the MIAA's power rankings cutoff. Fairhaven plays at GNB Voc-Tech at 6:30 p.m. at Jeffrey E. Riley Stadium, and Apponequet visits Dighton-Rehoboth at 6:30 p.m. All 12 games in the table below kick off Friday night, which leaves Halloween Saturday to soccer, field hockey and volleyball.
The MIAA's football cutoff is Saturday, Oct. 31, and the tournament brackets come out at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, the association said in its fall tournament schedule. Every division of its power rankings, which count scores entered through 4 a.m. Oct. 27, carries the same rule: "Top 16 teams with at least 3 wins and 7 games played qualify for the postseason tournament." Fairhaven is sixth in Division 6, with Old Rochester seventh and Case 11th. Apponequet is 11th in Division 5, and New Bedford is 13th in Division 1.

Notes
Every kickoff time, site, score and South Coast record comes from the schedules the schools post on Arbiter Live, and every ranking and opponent record from the MIAA's football power rankings, which count scores entered through Oct. 27. The cutoff and bracket dates are from the MIAA's fall tournament schedule. Player statistics and the Big Three and 100th point lines are from three Boston Globe pages, its Week 7 players of the week (Oct. 26) and its Schools Insider pages of Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 with their football and volleyball leaders lists, with names as the Globe printed them. The unified fundraiser game is from the Town of Marion's News Flash of Oct. 13. The Standard-Times and Herald News items are credited from their published headlines; no fact here comes from them. We read every page on Oct. 29. Where both schools list a game, the time, site and score agree; games against teams from outside the region are as the South Coast school lists them. Points, streaks and goals were counted from the posted results. We checked each date and weekday against a calendar. Not heard: no comment was sought.
