SOUTH COAST WAREHAM Wareham's Veterans Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 from Besse Park and heads down Main Street to Centre Park, where the town holds its ceremony. The town bars parking on Main Street for the parade and is running a free shuttle for people who leave their cars at Town Hall.
It is one of five Veterans Day parades, ceremonies and gatherings on our list for the South Coast, starting with an 8 a.m. pancake breakfast in Taunton and ending with Fall River's parade, which steps off at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 11 falls on a Wednesday this year, and four of the five events start before noon.
How we chose
The list covers public Veterans Day parades, ceremonies and veterans' fundraisers in the towns South Coast 360 covers that had a 2026 date, time and place set as of Oct. 29. No organizer paid to be listed.
Parades
Wareham, 10 a.m. Floats and marching bands stage on Merchant's Way, so that street is also closed to parking. Besides the Town Hall shuttle, the town lists Tremont Nail and Pezzoli Square as parking areas. The WCTV lot is for handicap parking only.
Fall River, 1:30 p.m. Staging begins at 11:30 a.m., and a pre-parade ceremony starts at 1 p.m. The city's Department of Veterans Services set this year's theme as "A Legacy of Service: From Generation to Generation" and says the grand marshal, the ceremony schedule, the honorees and the parade route will be announced as the day gets closer. The city asks groups that want to march to register as soon as possible, as our earlier story on the parade explains.
Ceremonies
Bristol Community College, Fall River, 10:30 a.m. The college's Joseph A. Marshall Veterans Center holds a ceremony and lunch in the Commonwealth College Center, the G building, on the Fall River campus at 777 Elsbree St. The program includes a brief speaking program and an Armistice observance at 11 a.m. marking the end of World War I, followed by a buffet lunch. Representatives from the Providence VA Medical Center will be on hand to talk with veterans about benefits and eligibility. It is free and open to all, with registration at BristolCC.edu/veteransday. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Day National Committee has again named the event a regional site for the 2026 Veterans Day commemoration.
Marion, 11 a.m. The town holds its annual Veterans Day ceremony at Old Landing Veteran's Park on Front Street, and moves it into the Sippican School Multipurpose Room in bad weather. Tri-Town Veterans Service Officer Christopher P. Gerrior, a retired Navy lieutenant, is the guest speaker, and the Sippican School Band, led by Jennifer Estacio, plays patriotic music. Afterward, the Marion Council on Aging hosts a noon luncheon at the Benjamin D. Cushing Community Center for veterans, active duty service members, spouses and guests, with an RSVP due Nov. 6 at 508-748-3570.
Taunton breakfast
Taunton, 8 to 11 a.m. The Veteran's Memorial Marker Pancake Breakfast at the Ward Five Club, 29 Winter St., serves pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice, with a table raffle and a 50/50 raffle. The breakfast costs $8 for anyone 6 and older and $5 for children ages 3 to 5, and children 2 and younger eat free. All proceeds go toward buying and placing memorial markers on the graves of veterans buried in Taunton.

Notes
Every listing comes from a 2026 town, city or organizer page: the Wareham, Marion, Taunton and Dighton calendars, Marion's Oct. 21 news flash, Bristol Community College's Veterans Center page and the Fall River Department of Veterans Services release of Oct. 1. We read them on Oct. 29. We checked each date and weekday against a calendar: Nov. 11, 2026, is a Wednesday. Not heard: no comment was sought; each listing carries its organizer's contact.
