MARION Marion police will host a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Silvershell Beach, according to the town's flyer. Wareham, Dighton and Lakeville have also posted Halloween events for the rest of the month. Wareham lists Trick or Treat on Main Street on Friday, Oct. 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. The event takes families to Wareham businesses, and the listing suggests starting at Pizzoli Square and making a loop of the shops taking part.

Dighton Public Library, 207 Main St., lists two movie showings on each of two Wednesdays, Oct. 21 and Oct. 28, at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The movies are free and need no registration, according to the listings. The library also lists a preschool Halloween party on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m., and treats for costumed visitors on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Lakeville, the Center for Active Living is collecting individually wrapped candy until Friday, Oct. 23. Donations go to the center's office. The center will give the candy to the Department of Public Works to hand out on Sunday, Oct. 25, the flyer says. The Park Commission's Trunk or Treat is that day at Ted Williams Camp. The flyer does not give a time for it.

None of these notices sets hours for neighborhood trick-or-treating on Oct. 31.

How we verified this

Every fact comes from the town flyers and calendar listings above. Two of the flyers are images, so we read them against the pictures. The Lakeville flyer gives no year; the town posted it Oct. 6, 2026, and its weekdays match 2026. We fetched every listing again on Oct. 18 before publishing; none had changed. We recomputed every weekday by script and checked each claim against the listings. A human editor approved the story. Not heard: no one was contacted.
